This is not Chorley St.
It’s a pity the street sign on that building isn’t legible.
It could very likely be as you describe. Iwas forgetting that this was 1937
Confirmed; through a magnifying glass the street sign can be discerned as Bark Street. The factory and chimney is Kay’s Timber Works (still standing although the chimney is a lot shorter). Dawson Lane is the street on the left and both streets join Chorley Street here. Doffcocker Brook is culverted under Chorley Street about here.
