Description
Councillor Ellis Clarke films a propaganda film for the Labour party at Moor Lane Bus Station. The film, which was called ‘Our Bolton’, has since been lost.

My grandad Harwood used to train Ellis Clarkes grayhounds in Davenport St.

Im sorry Caroline,I dont have any pictures of the greyhound era. In fact the only camera we had in those days was a kodak box camera. Very simple but took good photos.Ellis Clarke had three children including twin boys, The twins kept the smithills Coaching house. Unfortunately one committed suicide
What a great shot on No 1 and No 2 retort houses at Moor Lane Gas Works. You can also see the office buildings and training center in the foreground. I started work there as an apprentice gas fitter in 1964
