This is definitely the pulpit at Holy Trinity Church. I worshiped there from my baptism in 1946 and was in the choir there from 1953 until I joined the choir at Bolton Parish Church in 1970. My family lived across the road in Crook Street and were members of the congregation from its opening in 1825.
This looks familiar. Have you any other photos of the interior of Holy Trinity Church, Bolton.
This is the only ‘Waterloo’ or ‘Commissioner’s’ Church actually in Bolton. There are two others, in the area, in Horwich and Ringley.
My partner, Barbara Jackson, as she was then known attended Holy Trinity in the 1950’s and says this looks like pulpit she remembers.
The inscription on the pulpit reads:
“To the glory of God, and in memory of John Bayley, this pulpit was erected by his sons, A.D.1869.”
