I suspect that the man at the back leaning on a window sill with a dark moustache is my grandfather Arnold Worthington. I know that he campaigned for George Tomlinson in that election because he later complained to us that George Tomlinson had been a traitor to the Labour cause. I suspect he’s holding a cigarette and that is a very distinctive way in which my grandfather held a cigarette. He was born in 1902, always lived in Farnsworth, and had a roofing business A Worthington and Son (previously E & A Worthington).
