We think that this is the Vulcan Pub, because of the image on the window.

If you look at the image it also shows and Eagle. A bit of a giveaway. It would have been the Eagle and Vulcan on Folds Road, also a Magees pub. Lost pubs of Bolton have more:

I’m told that my grandfather was a barman there before he became a landlord at the Duke of Connaught on Mill Street (1935 – post WW2).
