Councillor Ellis Clarke films a propaganda film for the Labour party at Moor Lane Bus Station. The film which was called ‘Our Bolton’ but has been lost.

The large building opposite was the gasworks, We used to queue up with an old pram down the side with my Grandma. For a shilling a man used to fill your bag with coke. He actually put so many shovel fulls in. Everybody remembers how cold it was.Your clothing stamps did,nt go far enough to buy a coat. thats if you had the money/
