Thanks for the identification Karen- I think another person has got in touch through the exhibition with the same ID. Is it possible for you to supply a photo so we can double check the identification? If you get in touch with Ian Trumble at the Museum he can arrange this with you ian.trumble@bolton.gov.uk. We are really happy to put names to faces in these photos and would love to hear any memories you have stirred up by this photo
Just to note – asbout the 16th December 2013 the ESB building was being vacated by the owners, looks like they were shutting down. Strange for it not to be there anymore.
What year was this? What was the Bolton Motor Company building built to accommodate? Built 1897 – no cars then so why the need for such a large building on 3 floors?
I have been trying to pinpoint the location of this photo for about two years. The photo I have was from another source and it was cropped along the top making it difficult to make out the B road on the signpost. I was unable to find the location using Google Maps but just now, a search for ‘British Road A6054’ brought me here …. to find more information than I ever dreamed of!
Glad to hear we can be of service Anthony!
