We travelled this way on our way to the Regal cinema. Down Dawson lane from St,Georges Rd, and on to Chorley St.The cinema was the only entertainment for lads in those days
That is Kay’s timber factory. Doffcocker Brook goes under Chorley Street at this point. It is known as Little Bridge, but the brook has been hidden for decades.

I am fascinated with the forgotten infrastructure of bolton, especially stuff like lost rivers and underground culverts. Where does the brook run to, or is it long since reduced to a small trickle?

Is the brook now culverted and buried away for good, in a small bore pipe? Interested in undergound waterways, forgive my curiosity.
