Description
Art Deco building, and sign for new houses for sale at Leverhulme Park- £385 or £395 for a semi-detached house. The building is possibly the sales office for the new estate. One of them men behind the car to the right of the photograph is smiling at the photographer.
We do not have an exact location for this building so if you know where it was please leave a comment below.
Blenheim Road is not shown on the 1:2500 map, dated 1937.
It does show a small building on a plot between the original St Osmund’s Church and semi det. houses on the east side of Long Lane.
The shape of the building, on the map, although small, could be the same as the plan of the ‘sales office’.
Blenheim Road, itself, would eventually be to the left of the office with the new builds, in the previous photo, behind it.
The building on the far right, under the sign, is probably the rear corner of the first house in Long Lane.
The view across the fields is towards Little Lever and the Irwell Valley.
